ABOUT

Simon Duncan is a registered osteopath with over 25 years experience in sports injuries with regular experience treating some of Europe’s elite ballerinas, contemporary dancers and maestri, professional tennis, basketball players and gymnasts.

While running a successful practice and lecturing at the International College of Osteopathic Medicine Milan, he completed an advanced course in Sports Osteopathy with the University of Bicocca, Milan.

Over the years, Simon has organised either the osteopathic services or the full medical services at the Milan Marathon, 2 ATP Tennis Challenger, 3 ATP Tennis Futures level tennis tournaments and at the AFL European Cup held in Italy in 10/2012 that included 15 teams arriving from all over Europe.

Simon’s treatment success lies in the combining of tried and tested techniques with the creation of techniques developed for the actual presenting problem, not dividing, but integrating musculoskeletal, visceral and cranial body systems.

Your First Consultation

What is osteopathic treatment?

At your first appointment and in any subsequent session(s), you may receive any of the below osteopathic treatments following the clinical assessment conducted by your osteopath.

  • Musculoskeletal and nervous system assessments – Your osteopath will use a range of tools to identify what might be happening in the body.

  • Manual therapy – A range of ‘hands-on’ techniques that may give relief from musculoskeletal pain, discomfort and may help tissues in the body.

  • Clinical exercise programs – Activities and movement strategies for use at home, work or in other settings. Exercise may help you return to activities you enjoy, for example after an injury or surgery.

  • Body function assessments - Movement, postural, positioning advice and ergonomic assessments.

  • Therapeutic needling techniques - Such as dry needling, trigger point therapy or acupuncture.

  • Patient education and advice - Lifestyle, stress management, diet or other factors that may influence your pain, injury or movement.
